Ionophores Are Still Under Utilized

David Lalman, extension beef cattle specialist at Oklahoma State University says the use of ionophores still represents untapped potential in many grazing programs. For instance, the Oklahoma Gold program developed at OSU—1 lb. of high protein supplement/day with an ionophore—routinely increases average weight gain in calves grazing summer pasture by .06 lbs/day.
