Twenty-five years of research by Marleen Felius, Dutch author and illustrator, has produced an 800-page book depicting more than 1,000 breeds of cattle through color photos, watercolor paintings, illustrations, charts and maps. Dairy, beef and draft animals are discussed and each breed is classified according to geographical location, historical background and physical features. Charts indicate breed lineage and records of crossbreeding, while maps depict locations and distribution of authentic and crossbreds in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas and Australia.
