605 Sires + Donors, one of the fastest-growing beef reproductive facilities in the country, and ABS Global, a world-renowned leader in bovine genetics, have announced a strategic partnership aimed at leveraging their combined expertise to drive innovation and expand access to cutting-edge genetic solutions for beef producers nationwide.

605 Sires + Donors is based in Marion, South Dakota, and provides comprehensive beef donor services including donor haul-in, donor boarding, and recipient/embryo transfer services. As a result of the collaboration with ABS, 605 Sires + Donors is building a brand-new bovine IVF facility on-site which will be operational by June 2024; it will be the first operation using ABS technology in the upper Midwest that will be dedicated to beef-only embryo production. This new building will allow 605 Sires + Donors to offer reverse sorting for the first time.

“We are thrilled to embark on this partnership with ABS Global,” said Cory Schrag, owner of 605 Sires + Donors. “By combining our strengths, we can provide a high-quality experience with reproductive results, genetic success, and top-notch customer service.”

ABS Global is known for its pioneering work in bovine genetics for more than 80 years and brings a wealth of knowledge and innovation to the partnership. ABS prides itself in creating quality embryos to drive genetic and reproductive success for herds throughout the world. In 2023, the ABS embryo technology produced over 700,000 embryos for beef and dairy herds.

“This collaboration aligns perfectly with our commitment to providing producers with the tools they need to maximize the genetic potential of their herds,” stated Mike Donnelly, strategic embryo account manager of ABS Global. “Together with 605 Sires + Donors, we will drive advancements that propel the livestock industry forward.”

Through this partnership, 605 Sires + Donors and ABS Global will work closely to provide advanced genetic technologies, superior breeding solutions, and unparalleled support to livestock producers. ABS has similar partnerships with Flying Cow Genetics in Oklahoma and Lander Vet Clinic in California.
