World Beef Expo has added new divisions to its 2010 Open Show: a Commercial Heifer division and an Other Registered Cattle division. The creation of these new divisions will allow more breeders to showcase their animals and their breeds.
The Commercial Heifer division is open to all commercial beef heifers. Animals will be weighed at the time of check-in and classes will be broken by weight. (Note: Animals shown in the 2010 World Beef Expo Open Show as registered cattle are not eligible for this division.)
The Other Registered Cattle division has been created to allow all breeds of beef cattle to be exhibited at World Beef Expo. Any animal whose breed is not otherwise included in the Open Show entry information may be entered in this new division. Further, each individual breed – regardless of the number of entries – will have its own show and recognize its own champions. (In other words, this is not an Any Other Breed division. Breeds will not show against one another in classes.)
Finally, World Beef Expo has established a rule allowing all entries to be eligible for Supreme Champion. Any division, including the newly created divisions, with ten or more paid entries will have its champion(s) automatically eligible for the Supreme Champion Drive. Any division with fewer than ten paid entries will have its champion(s) advance to an AOB Champion competition, with the winners qualifying for the Supreme Champion Drive.
The 18th Annual World Beef Expo will be held September 23rd-26th at Wisconsin State Fair Park in Milwaukee, WI. For more details, including all entry information, visit our website at www.worldbeefexpo.com.
