Pfizer Animal Health Renews Commitment to Kansas State Training Program

MANHATTAN, Kan. (May 8, 2009) – Pfizer Animal Health renewed its commitment to the Kansas State University advanced beef production medicine course with a second gift of $50,000 for 2009. Pfizer Animal Health has also agreed to contribute $55,000 in 2010 to support the annual Beef Cattle Institute, in addition to the advanced beef production medicine course. Pfizer Animal Health first partnered with Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007 with a $100,000 gift to develop this special course for bovine veterinary students.

The Pfizer Animal Health contribution supports three separate courses: a two-week feedlot production medicine course in the fall, a two-week cow-calf production medicine course in the spring, and a four-week beef production course that combines cow-calf production medicine and feedlot production medicine in the summer. The summer course is available for up to 30 students from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine and other cooperating veterinary colleges.
