Thank You, Veterans

I was truly humbled to have the opportunity to speak to the group of farmers and ranchers at the National Grange Convention in Charlotte, NC, last night, and I look forward to interacting with the youth members in today's social media workshop. Although I have another busy day ahead of me, I still think it's important to take a minute on this Veteran's Day to reflect on our nation's heroes -- the men and women who have made great sacrifices throughout our history to protect our many freedoms.

I'm a big fan of poetry, and I ran across a poem I would like to share with all of you today. Please, pass it along to your friends and family, and be sure to thank a veteran today.

"Take A Moment To Thank A Veteran" By Joanna Fuchs

When you see someone in a uniform,

Someone who serves us all,

Doing military duty,

Answering their country’s call,

Take a moment to thank them

For protecting what you hold dear;

Tell them you are proud of them;

Make it very clear.

Just tap them on the shoulder,

Give a smile, and say,

"Thanks for what you’re doing

To keep us safe in the USA!"
