Mike Pearson takes a look at a new test out to help producers tackle bird flu testing right on their farms.

The Avian influenza started in 2022 and it resulted in millions of birds culled.

The problem with the current testing is either it takes too long or it's not reliable.

Alveo, a company out of California has developed a new test for the bird flu.

The new test would take fluid from the bird and be placed into a cartridge that would be placed in an analyzer and results are then ready in 30 minutes.

This would allow farmers to test in the field and help prevent the disease from spreading to other parts of the farm.
