Packing plant expects to expand to 1,500 head when it's fully operational.
An Aberdeen beef plant that was initially scheduled to open years ago is now just months away from the opening.
There's right around $100 million worth of new facility sitting just south of Aberdeen waiting to process beef. Leaders of Northern Beef Packers say that should start happening in November.
"Well, right now we have some of the workers working on a six-day week basis and some of them are at ten hours a day to try to meet our goal a little bit faster," Steve Kaiser says.
And from the area of the plant that will house the cattle to the area that will house the finished product, plant leaders say they're optimistic about the construction progress to this point.
