John Deere W110 & W150
John Deere offers small-grain and forage producers more horsepower and header options in 2013. The W110 and W150 Self-Propelled Windrowers (SPW) replace Deere’s 125-hp A400 SPW, and complement the existing 200-hp R450 and D450 models.
The 110-hp W110 and 150-hp W150 traction units can be matched with eight new MacDon Draper heads from 15-40 ft., and five auger heads from 14-18 ft., to meet virtually any cutting and windrow performance need. Plus, the heads are interchangeable, allowing the flexibility to switch heads on a single traction unit to match different crops and harvest conditions.
The new windrower models and heads provide greater choice in selecting smaller and mid-size machines – SPW models from 110 hp to a 200-hp turbo-diesel. Other features include increased visibility to the cutting platform, superior crop cutting and conditioning, and more consistent windrow performance at faster operating speeds for all types of hay and small grain crops. All models feature fuel-efficient PowerTech E engines; rear steering-assist and independent rear suspension systems; interchangeable rotary and draper head compatibility; and come with integrated GreenStar™ precision guidance including AutoTrac™.

Kuhn GMD 2850 TL
Kuhn’s GMD 2850 TL trailed disc mower is designed for those who prefer a trailed disc mower, but require a machine that can maneuver narrow spaces. Featuring an 8-ft., 10-in. working width, the unit boasts the same features of larger models in the GMD TL Series. This includes the GMD 3150 TL, GMD 3550 TL and GMD 4050 TL, which have working widths of 10 ft., 2 in.; 11½ ft.; and 13 ft., respectively.
The GMD 2850 TL’s easy hook-and-go attachment gets you into the field faster, while the rugged Optidisc® cutterbar, with differential disc spacing, ensures a clean cut, even in challenging conditions. The “lubed for life” cutterbar decreases overall maintenance requirements, while the Protectadrive® feature provides reliability and improved suspension with greater adjustability.
The GMD 2850 TL trailed design lowers the tractor ballast requirement, allowing use with smaller tractors, while maintaining excellent stability at work and in transport. Kuhn says the design is the better alternative to a large mounted disc mower or mower on a caddy.

Massey Ferguson® Farmer DM Series
No matter the tractor size or terrain challenge, a Massey Ferguson® Farmer Series disc mower can handle the job. The DM1305, DM1306, DM1308 and DM1309 units offer smooth cutting, low maintenance and reliability. They’re designed for high forage flow without crop build-up for fluffy swaths that result in faster dry down and high-quality forage.
The Farmer DM Series mowers are available in widths from 5½-9 ft., while discs spinning at 3,000 rpm deliver a clean cut at a faster pace than a sickle-bar mower. Plus, the flat, low-profile, spur-gear design keeps the cut clean, even on difficult terrain.
The mowers’ design means rocks and uneven terrain are less likely to cause damage, and the cutterbar is equipped with a roll/shear pin for every disc. The shear pin is positioned to break outside the cutterbed, preventing internal damage and eliminating oil-bath contamination. A spring-loaded, anti-collision, break-away system allows the entire mower to pivot backward if the mower contacts an object protruding from the ground. This allows the operator time to stop the tractor before serious damage can occur.

Massey Ferguson® Pro DM series
The Massey Ferguson® Pro DM Series (DM1358, DM1361 and DM1362) boasts a cutting range from 8 ft. to 11½ ft. The heavy-duty units feature a driveGUARD cutterbar protection system that prevents internal cutterbar damage by rocks or large objects. And the cutterbar’s modular design allows quick and easy servicing in the field if needed, while a standard quick-change knife system minimizes downtime when replacing cutterbar knives.
The Pro Series model DM1358 and DM1361 mowers also can be equipped to help hay dry down more quickly by the easy addition of Massey Ferguson’s KC Tine or RC Roller conditioners. The KC Tine conditioner gently fluffs, conditions and aerates the crop for accelerated drying times. Either conditioner attachment takes just moments to remove or reattach.

New Holland Discbine®
New Holland’s Discbine® mower-conditioners feature the latest advances in disc cutterbar technology – the MowMax™ modular cutterbar with the protection of ShockPro™ disc drive hubs. Standard on all H7000 Series Discbine disc mower-conditioners, these features ensure a cleaner cut, reduced operating costs and less downtime.
The Discbine line ranges from seven-disc models (9-ft. swath) to 12-disc models with a sweep of more than 15 ft. Chevron-design and intermeshing rubber or steel rolls ensure consistent, gentle and thorough conditioning. For grass crops that can handle more aggressive conditioning, tapered flails provide fast-drying, time-saving conditioning.
The patented MowMax independent modular disc cutterbar ensures smooth, quiet, trouble-free mowing, and fast and inexpensive cutterbar servicing. To reduce operating costs and downtime, the cutterbar’s individually sealed disc drive modules isolate and fully contain damage if the mower hits an obstruction in the field.
The ShockPro drive hubs protect cutterbar drive components from impact damage with a foreign object by heading off the shock load before it can damage drive components. If the ShockPro hub breaks, it can easily be replaced in 10 minutes at minimal cost.

Claas Disco 3500 F Series
Claas introduces three front-mounted “F” series mowers to its Disco line. Boasting an 11-ft., 2-in. working width, the Disco 3500 F series feature a front-mounted tine conditioner (3500 FC), roller conditioner (3500 FRC) and a non-conditioning unit (3500 F). Similar to the smaller 3100 F series, the 3500 F series allows for greater overlap and eliminates the need for side shift when paired with a rear triple mower. It also works well in a two-mower combination with a Disco 9100 series triple mower or the trailed Disco 3500 TC/TRC.
Like other units in the series, Disco 3500 models feature a gear-driven cutterbar with a conditioner almost the length of cutterbar. Claas P-cut heavy-duty cutterbars feature the Safety Link® cutterbar protection system. The new units also come equipped with the Quick Knife Release System for quick and easy knife changes. An optional Hydraulic Float when mounted to the front of the tractor is available for optimal floatation in rough ground.

Claas Disco 9300 RC
The Claas Disco 9300 RC features the same spacious 29-ft, 3 in. to 29-ft., 10 in. working width as the standard Disco 9300 C unit, with the added benefit of a roller conditioner. Both 9300 models are designed for bidirectional tractor use. Like the Disco 9300 C, the Disco 9300 RC is equipped with Active Float suspension for unmatched floating in all types of conditions.
The 9300 RC delivers a clean cutting pattern across the entire working width, is gentle on grass stubble, and delivers optimal forage quality with minimal contamination. The Disco 9300 RC’s design transfers weight to the tractor’s front axle via adjustable tension springs and the Active Float suspension system. This lowers power requirements and reduces wear on the cutterbar skids because of reduced friction, saving fuel and maintenance. Despite the large working width, the Disco 9300 RC is easy to transport and maintain, thanks to safety guards that fold all the way open.

Krone’s EasyCut B 970
Krone’s EasyCut B 970 butterfly mower boasts ease of use and a work width of up to 31 ft., 10 in. (when combined with a Krone front-mount mower). The two rear-mower units use a pin-and-hole setting system that shifts them laterally up to 6 in. for optimum overlap when working on slopes or cutting around corners. Back in flat fields, the operator can quickly reset the combination to its full work width.
Other comfort features include a spring suspension system that uses a patented pivoting arm to easily adjust the ground pressure and provide optimum flotation in hilly terrain and good balance independent of the tractor. A break-back system allows the units to move back and up when impacting a foreign object, and then automatically move back into working position once the object has been passed.
Easy transport is another standout feature, as both mowers swing up, in line behind the tractor, with the top ends inclined toward each other for a 13-ft. transport height, and ground clearance of 9.8 in.
