Herd Data™ For PDAs
Y-Tex Corp. announces the addition of Y-Tex HerdData™ for PDAs to its livestock ID product lineup. This database program facilitates collection and organizing of calving and herd data on a Palm, Handspring Visor or other Palm OS devices. Replacing the traditional calving book, it's designed for use with visual identification (ID), group ID, bar-coded and radio-frequency (RF) ID tags.
Y-Tex also offers a PDA-RFID sled reader for the Palm VIIx™ that reads RFID tags and automatically accesses individual animal records in the Y-Tex HerdData program. It allows for easy maintenance of beef quality assurance (BQA) records.
Using Y-Tex HerdData's filter and sort features, individual animals can be compared by a choice of various criteria for quick answers in the field. Once back in the office, the data can be downloaded and stored on a desktop computer. HerdData is available on a free, 30-day trial basis.
