Federal registration

DuPont Pastora herbicide has received Environmental Protection Agency federal registration approval for selective control of problem broadleaf and grass weeds with no grazing restrictions. Pastora provides postemergence control of field sandbur and johnsongrass, as well as long-lasting postemergence control of broadleaf weeds, including common broomweed, buttercup and musk thistle. In field trials, Pastora controlled more than 25 grass weeds and 100 broadleaf weeds.

Kuhn round balers

Kuhn's VB 2160 and 2190 variable-chamber round balers are available with an open-throat intake design, OptiFeed non-cutting rotor, or a 14-knife Opticut integral rotor. The 2160 is a 4×5 baler and the 2190 produces 4×6 round bales. The pre-chamber ensures fast and consistent bale starting, while the Progressive Density System provides very firm, square-edged bales with variable cores. Completed bales are secured with twine and/or the simple, convenient front net wrap system.

Large square balers

Kuhn's LSB 890 and 1290 large square balers feature a cutting or non-cutting integral rotor that provides high-performance bale throughput in diverse crop conditions. The 890 is a 3×3 baler and the 1290 makes 3×4 bales. These models' Power Density System and extreme-duty plunger work together to ensure uniform flakes and square-edged, rock-hard bales, the company says. Bales are tied together by a Twin-Step Knotting system.

Lazer stock trailer

Featherlite Trailers' Lazer stock trailer, which features rounded air spaces for a distinctive look, is built with aluminum sheets on the inside of the trailer's structural side posts instead of being welded to the outside of them. The result is a smooth, flush interior that's easier to clean. It's available in lengths of 20, 24 and 28 ft., with a standard 7-ft. width and tandem rubber torsion axles with electric brakes.

Trailed disc mowers

Kuhn North America's GMD 3550 TL and GMD 4050 TL trailed disc mowers feature working widths of 11½ and 13 ft. and can cut at up to 10 mph to efficiently mow hay at a rate of up to 126 acres/day.
