Now a list of strategies and scenarios for the ranch business has been derived. Next is to merge strategies with the anticipated scenarios to find which strategies have the highest likelihood of success. Then you’ll know where to focus your energy.

Step 8:

Determine strategies with the highest likelihood of success. To test strategies against future scenarios, use a simple matrix with strategies down the side of the matrix and scenarios across the top. Use a plus (+) sign to indicate if the strategy may improve the situation in the scenario and a negative (-) sign if the strategy may worsen it. A zero indicates the strategy would have a neutral effect.

At the end of the process, the strategies with the most plus signs are strong candidates for implementation in your strategic plan, as they would have the most positive effect on the operation because of how it works positively within the most scenarios.
