In Missouri, I know many are disappointed about passage of the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) measure to impose what it calls “common sense welfare standards” on Missouri’s dog breeders. Passage of the Missouri Dog Breeding Regulation Initiative, Proposition B (2010), isn’t directly related to the cattle industry, but it’s not just dog breeders who will be impacted by these new regulations. Many are concerned that HSUS is simply setting precedents for future ballot initiatives in other states. Next time, the focus might hit closer to home and your farm or ranch.
As we look to the future, are you happy with the election results in your state? What regulations were passed, and how will they impact the way you do business down the road? Do you think your state is politically headed in the right direction?

Here are a few: calves grazing the corn stalks, combines moving across the fields, hunters and dogs looking for pheasants, kids dressed up for Halloween, cowboys riding horses, veterinarians working cows or maybe even your pumpkins sitting on your front porch. However you celebrate this time of year, capture it in a photo and send it my way! I can't wait to see what you come up with! For more info, link here.
