Last week, I began a multiple-part series featuring the things producers use on a daily basis on cattle operations across the country. Cattle ranchers took part in discussions on preferred gate latches and the best stock trailers to invest in. Those who sent in their comments first even qualified to receive fun prizes! This week, we are back at it, and once again, I will be giving away a set of notecards by David R. Stoecklein. Today's discussion will undoubtedly reveal loyalties and favorites for cattle producers, as I want to know what your favorite breed of cattle is.
Which breed works best for you? What cross-breeding scenario creates the perfect cow? Which breed fits in your region? What do you like about your favorite breed? What experiences have you had with others? Just like rooting for your favorite team during a sporting event, producers often rally around a particular breed with as much spirit and passion.
