My dear friends and fellow beef producers recently had a baby, and they asked me to shoot some photos of him around the farm. We went to the pasture, the corn field, around hay bales and next to their business sign. It was a fun day capturing special moments of a new baby destined to join the tradition of farming and ranching. Kids and cattle are kind of a package deal during the summer months, and because so many cattle shows are taking place across the country right now, I thought I would feature an exciting new photography contest featuring country kids and their farm animals.

The contest is open until next Wed., July 28, 2010, where I will choose 10 finalists to be voted on by you, the readers. Two winners will be selected to win a copy of Great Ranches of the West.
