Well, I arrived safely back in South Dakota late last night, where I can assure you that the results of global warming were not evident. The topic of climate change and global warming was tackled at the AFBF Annual Meeting by Christopher C. Horner, a senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute. It was a packed house in this afternoon seminar as Horner openly shared his thoughts on the scandals behind the premise of global warming and the agenda’s implications. Since it was of such keen interest to the folks at the conference, I figured it would hold the same appeal to all of you this morning. So, throw another log on the fire, grab a cup of hot coffee and get ready to read the chilling ideas from Horner on global warming.
Horner explained that what scientists are pinning as global warming is simply another cyclical shift of the world’s climate. I have listed some of his more memorable quotes below. Enjoy.
“Cooling happens after warming, and warming happens after cooling,” said Horner. “Al Gore, in his infinite wisdom, said that the world has a fever. Who decided what the normal temperature of the Earth is? How did they take the globe’s temperature anyway? Plain and simple, climate has always changed. That’s what climate does.”
“Cap-and-trade legislation will not work,” said Horner. “A rationing scheme will be costly and will prohibit growth in this country. This grand gesture by the United States will just be a tragic reaction to something in our history. At the end of the day, it’s just a well-crafted scheme to raise the cost of energy.”
“In all reality, it's the sun that is causing climate change, not us. Who is going to tax the sun?” asked Horner. “What fun is that? What will the temperature be after we legislate cap-and-trade? It will be the same as it would be, no matter what. Don’t cap our future.”
