I fear our beautiful fall days may be coming to a quick end as the snow flies across the plains of South Dakota today. Nevertheless, I'm excited to announce the winners of the BEEF Daily Fall Harvest Photography Contest! More than 100 entries were submitted from readers across the country, and I'm so proud of the quality of work compiled in the Fall Harvest Photo Album, a collection of photographs celebrating the bounty of an abundant harvest in agriculture.
I know our finalists are probably more than anxious to find out who among them will take home the grand prizes, so I won't delay any longer in making the big announcement!
Congratulations to Abby Namken from Reliance, SD. Namken is the Grand Champion in the contest with her photo, "Sunset in South Dakota" and will receive a copy of Great Ranches of the West by Jim Keen.
Winning Reserve Champion is Trish Fulmer from Mansfield, OH with her photo, "Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower." Fulmer will receive a copy of Ranch Style: The Artistic Culture and Design of the Real West by David R. Stoecklein.
Again, congratulations to our champions and our finalists. A big thank you goes out to all contest participants -– photographers, voters and viewers of the photo album. Stay tuned for updates on a new contest to unveil later this winter. Be sure to stop back tomorrow when I will be giving away another great prize – a Stanley waterproof spotlight -- in a random sweepstakes. ‘Tis the season for giving, and we are happy to celebrate that at BEEF Daily!
