Stanley Stout, one of the most famous and popular auctioneers in the livestock industry, passed away unexpectedly this week as the result of a heart attack.
One of my favorite movies is "It's a Wonderful Life," as it demonstrates how clearly one's life has an impact on so many others. Stanley was one of those people who made a lasting impact, not only on our industry but on a lot of people involved in it. No greater testimony to this is the flood of e-mails I received, as people wanted to make everyone aware.
I'm sure everyone who had the opportunity to get to know Colonel Stout has a favorite story or anecdote to tell. The one thing that can be said for certain is that he made a lasting impact on a lot of individuals and he will be sorely missed and fondly remembered. -- Troy Marshall
