The U.S.-Panama Trade Promotion Agreement took effect on Wednesday, Oct. 31. The measure immediately eliminated the 30% tariff on Prime and Choice beef cuts, and will phase out other duties over the next 15 years. This week’s online poll question is: “Is The U.S.-Panama FTA good for America’s ranchers?”

With record beef prices in every aspects of the market, the more marketing options that we as producers have ensure that these strong markets continue. This also makes beef a more affordable commodity in lesser developed countries.
Any agreement which will allow more access to US beef while still not selling out our domestic markets is always good.
It's a good start
