I had to cut back by a 1/4 in '11and have been keeping hfrs at 10 to 12 % every year since. Fed lots of hay but getting paid back now and we have lots of green grass and water with rain in the forecast. Southern Oklahoma. 84 degrees today. The 15 th of July. Unheard of in this part of the country but we will take it.
Just starting out, adding on slowly
Time to retire
Our dairy business could not meet the demand for bull calves during this spring calving season. I predict most will increase.
Reduced herd by 1/3 during drought, and would like to expand more, but with these prices we will only expand 5-10% this year. Thank God for the grass and rains here!
Where abouts are you located, Anonymous?
Maintained numbers during the drought. Now time to get paid back!
It's a great time to be in the business.
Uld cows are hard to replace with the pocketbook
Not bad cattle prices.
Expand while I can with available pasture.
