Keeping on the same theme as last week, this week’s online poll at beefmagazine.com asks: “What do you think about your federal income tax bill?” Be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments section after voting.
Federal Tax is too high. Everyone needs to be on the same rate. Too many loopholes for the wealthy.
Too high and far too complicated.
I think it should be a requirement for anyone in the three branches of govt to have run a successful business in the private sector, have a minimum of five courses in Economics and be held to their oath of office -- today if we just upheld our laws --we wouldn't be in this mess. Sometimes I wish that everyone in farming and ranching would just stop production sell no crops , sell no meat animals for 1 year -- allow the spoiled to suffer a bit.
Taxes are high...only because the idiots in Washington do not know how to run a business and waste way too much money. Trim budgets and then trim taxes.
Too high because government is too big. Government is the most wasteful organization ever. They always spend and never save or understand sustainable business practices. I worked for the government for 31 years because in my area it was the best paying job. But also am a self-employed family member...so I could see the waste and but no one wanted to hear that.
Reduce government and taxes can be reduced.
I like roads bridges police and fire along with a strong military so I guess mine are just about right.
The tax is probably about right. What would help is for the government to stop giving away money to people and countries that we should not be helping in the first place like illegal aliens.
We do not owe them anything. If anyone wants our help then they should abide by our laws when they enter and are in our country.
The expences would be lowered, and our texes would be lower also if the money is not needlessly given away.
Shrink the goverment. Move regulations closer to home.
Taxes feed the beast. The beast is too big. Way too big...
too high for the way it is spent
Way to high for the sorry crooks in Washington. Its all about money. If they are honest the first time the are elected , they change with all the money thrown at them.I hate seeing what is happening to our country. Just look at the EPA, Forest Service and BLM.
I have never made close to the $250,000 that the Pres. talks about; but, as a retiree, I still have 85% of my social security taxed. In addition, after state, federal and self-employment taxes, nearly one half of my earnings disappear. Actually if you add my medicare deductions from the SS check, it's very close to 50%. We have a government that takes money away for things that we do not need such as burdensome regulations and bureaucracy. It should tax us much less and let the states tax more so that decisions are made much closer to home.
If we could have some comfort level about the sensibility and honesty of thos spending the dollars, it would grate less!
May God continue to Bless America!
I don't worry so much about income tax, at least it means there was income. But estate taxes and property taxes can certainly take the ranch away.
I have to have livestock protection dogs due to the "governments" coyotes they will not allow us to poison, the most effective control. I just got a dog license bill for $100 per dog.
Well, for an illegal tax.
Do you honestly think anyone is going to respond to this poll saying their taxes are too low? The way are tax dollars are being spent makes one question why there hasn't been another Boston Tea Party incident somewhere in the U.S.
Actually in the poll of consumers performed by Investor's Business Daily (IBD), 54% of respondents felt their tax load was "about right," while 39% felt it was too high, and another 3% felt their taxes were too low. We wanted to see how those results would compare with an audience of beef producers. Here is the original post concerning the IBD poll -- http://beefmagazine.com/regulation/industry-glance-public-attitudes-curr...
Too high for a government that is way too big and imperialistic.
Too much tax for the kind of leadership we are getting from president down through congress.
