This week’s online poll question at beefmagazine.com is: “What’s your primary source for ag news?” Be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments section after voting:
For news, nothing more up to date than the internet. However, I listen to a market report every morning on the radio. I also read many farm publications, but they are old news. I like to read what other ranchers are doing.
I read front to back cover several farm publications , yet as most here say I use the internet almost as much... But a little old fashion I guess but I would rather read the hard copy of a magazine than read it on the internet....
I use Ag publications online and print along with Farm Marketing TV programming.
Have a good local farm radio station. Not much TV news related to Ag. Using internet much more to get up to date info.
Beef News Letter is very comprehensive.
Ranch level economics and finance information is lacking in all sources.
Internet e-mail updates like beef daily give a quick overview of what's happening in the business. You can get full articles on subjects of interest to you. RFD TV has some good info if you happen to be watching at the right time. Not much local ag news in our area (NW PA).
Go to NCBA & TSCRA Cattleman's College meetings or on-line, you will learn a lot .
The Stockman Grass Farmer, and Graze Magazine. Beefmagazine.com has some interesting articles but way to many articles by industry shills
By "shills" you mean people and opinions you don't agree with?
I meant folks that put profit before the health of the animals and the consumers.
Yeah, he means people that don't agree with his little niche
The Stockman Grassfarmer
Beef Magazine .com
farm publications and radio
Beef magazine the best for information.
Glad to see this poll.
I put internet, but I get most of the ag publications on the internet plus research results etc.
The internet and farm publications are of equal importance to me.
