Former President Bill Clinton recently spoke about something very near and dear to his heart. After traveling around the world, Clinton has many first-hand experiences where food and agriculture are at the heart of many issues.

Clinton's stop at the University of Arkansas April 15 was to kick off the Dale and Betty Bumpers Distinguished Lecture Program, focusing on agricultural, food and life sciences.

"I was shocked to realize how little people in Washington, in both parties, knew about agriculture," Clinton says.

Clinton reflected on his many missions around the world and says he is trying to help create food systems in poor countries.

"It is morally unacceptable to let children starve to death because of where they were born."

But according to Clinton, wealthier countries still need to find a way to feed children without causing permanent damage to their health.
