Environmental stewards named
The seven regional honorees that will vie for the 2006 National Environmental Stewardship Award (ESA) have been named. Among the honored are: Blight Family Farms, Albion, MI; Hayston Farms, Mansfield, GA; Clan Farms, Atlantic, IA; San Pedro Ranch, Carrizo Springs, TX; Thaler Land & Livestock, LaGrange, WY; Diablo Trust Ranches, Coconino County, AZ; Brown's Gelbvieh Ranch, Bismark, ND. The seven operations were cited for stewardship practices that serve as exemplary models for all cattle producers. An overall winner will be announced during the 2007 Cattle Industry Convention in Nashville, TN, in February.
