Calf Sale To Raise Funds For Troops

A special calf sale held at the Oklahoma City National Stockyards benefited military families across this country.

The National Livestock Credit Corporation conducted the sale on Dec. 5, with proceeds going to the All-American Beef Battalion (AABB), an Ashland, KS, nonprofit that since 2008 has been using funds raised from such sales to purchase steak dinners for servicemen and servicewomen — and their families.

“We have the best beef in the world, so for deploying troops, those coming home or wounded warrior units, this is how we show our appreciation,” says Bill Broadie, a former Marine and AABB chairman. “These kids give up so much of their lives for all of us and so many have been on several tours. We just wanted to let them and their families know that we appreciate them.”
