Stranded cattle in the wake of Hurricane Ike desperately need hay.

Louisiana Agriculture Commissioner Mike Strain is calling for hay donations to supply to cattle stranded by Hurricane Ike.

According to the Associated Press, There are thousands of cattle stranded by high water in Cameron, Vermilion, Plaquemines, Lafourche, Terrebonne and other parishes and Strain says they're going to need hay and feed.

Anyone who'd like to donate can contact the Louisiana Cattlemens Association or Strain's office and the agriculture department will distribute the donations where they're needed most.
