Missouri South Farm Field Day Is Oct. 7
A full day of beef research results and farm demos is on tap Oct. 7 at the University of Missouri (MU) South Farm. On hand is timely info on beef cattle nutrition, reproduction, management and genetics for beef producers, says Bob Weaber, MU Extension geneticist, as well as ethanol byproduct feeds, animal ID, beef sire selection, and the value of genetic, source and process verification.
Lunch is free but advance registration for the meal is required. Call Judy Burton at 573-882-7327.
The program also includes demos on artificial insemination, nutrition, management and genetic technologies, while beef exhibits and equipment displays from the ag industry will be open for viewing throughout the day. Meanwhile, pasture walks will showcase renovated and newly re-fenced grazing paddocks. MU livestock specialists will be available for answering questions in addition to the Q&A sessions after each talk.
