Iowa Livestock Markets Offering Program on Proper Livestock Handling
Iowa livestock markets in Dunlap, Spencer and Lamoni will present these free programs on proper livestock handling methods Dec. 15-17.
Iowa livestock markets will offer on three different days, December 15-17, a free program on a key industry concern: proper livestock handling methods. The "Stockmanship and Stewardship" program will be presented Dec. 15 at the Dunlap Livestock Auction, Inc., on Dec. 16 at Spencer Livestock Sales, Inc., and Dec. 17 at Lamoni Livestock Auction, Inc. Any livestock producer who is interested is invited and welcome to attend.
Curt Pate, who has been conducting livestock handling programs, nationally and internationally, for over 10 years, will make the presentations. These three markets are members of Livestock Marketing Association, the national trade association for marketing businesses.
LMA President Bobby Smith of Fairview, Okla., says these programs give producers and market employees an opportunity to learn more about effective stockmanship, low stress animal handling, and how these efforts raise the value, protect the livestock industry and preserve the ranching and livestock farming way of life.
