Colorado's 2011 beef exports to Canada increased 42%.
Colorado agricultural exports through the first seven months of 2011 increased 20% to $718 million, according to a report from the state department of agriculture.
The gain in exports was led by increases in beef, hides, dairy products and grains.
"Agricultural exports continue to play an important part in our state's economic recovery," says John Salazar, the state's agriculture commissioner. "So far this year, we have seen an additional $118 million from the ag export sector and that is directly attributed to our producers and benefits the whole state."
