Join A Thursday Webinar On Improved Feed Efficiency

Selection for Improved Feed Efficiency: A Genomics Approach is the title of an eXtension Beef Cattle Clearinghouse Community of Practice Webinar set for Thursday, Feb. 9, from noon to 1 p.m. CST.

This webinar series features comments by Matt Spangler, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and Bob Weaber, Kansas State University. They will discuss the importance of feed efficiency in the U.S. beef value chain, various measures of efficiency, and the genetic relationships between feed efficiency and other production traits. Additionally, genomic methods for genetic improvement of feed efficiency and an overview of a large research and extension initiative will be discussed.
