Interest rates are at the lowest levels seen since the late 1800s, thanks to extraordinary efforts by the Federal Reserve. But what goes down must ultimately come up, meaning now is an excellent time for cattle producers to refinance long-term debt. CattleFax Market Analyst Warren Prosser explains.

It can get frustrating to see great rates but so many lenders have a small acreage limit, often under 20 acres, to get the best 30 year fixed rates. Wells Fargo said they do not have an acreage limitation and I refinanced with them on the 80 acre parcel the house is on. Bank of America said they have a 50 acre limitation.
