Thirty-four U.S. beef-industry travelers took an up-close look at the beef industries of Argentina and Brazil in January. Over a 14-day period, participants on the tour sponsored by BEEF magazine and Montana State University visited with representatives of every production sector from seedstock through retail, including government officials and cattle researchers.

The tour began in Miami and set its first foot in South America in Buenos Aires, Argentina; and made its last tour stop in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In between, the travelers viewed the myriad of monuments, and dined on the La Plata River, in Buenos Aires; visited Iguazu Falls, the spectacular series of some 200 waterfalls located at the border of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay; and walked the sandy beaches and other renowned tourist locations in Rio.
