BEEF magazine collected 15 awards during the recent Livestock Publications Council's annual writing and design competition. BEEF claimed six first-place awards, six second-place awards, and three honorable mentions.

Among the first-place awards was the highly coveted “James Flanagan Award,” given annually to the most improved publication. BEEF won for its total magazine redesign, which debuted in September 2004 during the publication's 40th anniversary.
