Dry ice blaster
Kärcher Industrial Products' IB 15/80 Dry Ice Blaster uses compressed air to propel tiny dry ice pellets at supersonic speeds to flash-freeze and lift grime, paint, rust, mold and other contaminants from metal surfaces. The pellets quickly vaporize, so there's no messy wastewater or solvents to dispose of; only the soiled contaminant remains. Dry ice is non-abrasive, using micro-thermal shock to lift contaminants off the surface.
The IB 15/80 weighs 198 lbs., operates on 120V electricity (5 amps) and uses a blasting pressure of 44 to 230 psi. Compressed-air requirements range from 150-3,000 cfm. Dry ice pellets are 3 mm in size with consumption between 66 and 220 lbs./hour.

USDA approvals
USDA has approved two image-based, instrument-grading systems for determining beef carcass marbling scores as part of the official USDA Quality Grades for carcass beef.
The VBS2000 and the Computer Vision System were found appropriate for objectively predicting marbling scores accurately and precisely when evaluating beef carcasses for quality grade, certification programs and carcass data information programs. Both systems were previously approved for the assessment of USDA yield grades.
Use of these systems in the official grading process is contingent upon users having a written plan approved by USDA to verify the instrument's ongoing, in-plant operational accuracy.
