Correction
The July issue article “Global Beef Wrap” (page 30) by Clint Peck incorrectly stated that commercial beef production in Europe plummeted from 1,200 metric tons (mt) annually in 1993 to 200 in 2003. Actually, production dropped for the period 1993-2003 from 10.7 million mt to 9.9 million mt, with steady declines since. It is expected to reach 7.8-8.0 million mt in 2008 — and by 2014 is forecast at 7.6 million mt.
