Bert Ancell is president of New Mexico Cattle Growers Association and general manager of the Bell Ranch in San Miguel County.

He’s asking area residents join the cattle growers in celebrating the 40th anniversary of Earth Day on Thursday.

“There are people from 190 countries and 1 billion people taking this day to recognize the importance of all the magnificent wonders and natural resources that is loaned to us from the Earth,” he said.
