Farm-Oyl® brand celebrates 80th anniversary

ST. PAUL, Minn. (January 15, 2009) — CHS Inc., a leading energy and grain-based foods company, has kicked off a year-long celebration marking the 80th anniversary of the Farm-Oyl® lubricants brand. The celebration will include special offers and anniversary events at more than 500 local dealers in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

“Farm-Oyl® lubricants have a deep-rooted tradition of reliably meeting the tough demands of agricultural and commercial customers for generations,” said Anwer Hussain, senior vice president of lubricants for CHS. “We’re proud of this track record and are excited to continue growing the brand.”

“Farm-Oyl® is good quality oil at a fair price. The name is solid — it’s something that people come in and ask for — and it’s always been backed by a good company,” says Tom Rondeau, parts manager at Polfus Implement in New Richmond, Wis., which has sold Farm-Oyl® lubricants for about 45 years. “We have farming customers where several generations have trusted the Farm-Oyl® brand. When it gets passed down like that, it says an awful lot about the product’s performance.”

“My dad started using Farm-Oyl® in 1968. Today I buy 100% Farm-Oyl®, and so does my son,” says Tom Jansa, a crop and dairy producer in River Falls, Wis. “We’ve had good luck with it and our dealer takes good care of us. In this business, downtime can make or break you.”

Dependable Farm-Oyl® heavy-duty lubricants have been marketed to Upper Midwest customers since 1929. CHS acquired The Farm-Oyl Company, which was founded by Charles E. Ekstrom, in April 2007.
