Learn About Biofuel's Future On Crop/Livestock Ag
The impact of ethanol and biodiesel on the future of Missouri ag is the theme for the annual Breimyer Seminar, July 18, in the University of Missouri's (UM) Reynolds Alumni Center. The seminar is aimed at livestock producers, as well as grain growers.
Ron Plain, MU livestock economist and seminar coordinator, says corn prices on the futures market already reflect the influence of expected demand, which will affect livestock feeders. There's also potential impact on forage production, and repercussions extending to farmland prices and the amount of land retired in the Conservation Reserve Program.
The seminar start at 10 a.m. Registration is $20, which includes lunch and parking. Signup deadline is July 12. To register, call Joyce White at 573-882-6533 or email whitej@missouri.edu.
