Price Drops Continue For Gasoline & Diesel
The U.S. average retail price for regular gasoline slid 7.1¢/gal. to hit $3.809 for the week ending Aug. 11. It was the fifth-straight weekly drop, and a cumulative loss of 30.5¢ from the all-time high of July 7. Meanwhile, diesel fell another 14.9¢ to $4.353. That’s 41¢/gal. off the all-time high on July 14, but still $1.506 higher than last year at this time.
Gasoline was down in all regions, falling 8.9¢ ($3.799) on the East Coast, 4.1¢ ($3.731) in the Midwest, 8.1¢ ($3.685) in the Gulf Coast, and 5.3¢ ($3.953) in the Rocky Mountain Region. The West Coast shaved 8.3¢ to $4.057, while California retreated 8.7¢ to $4.118.
Diesel was down for the fourth-straight week, losing 14.3¢ ($4.42) on the East Coast, 15.2¢ to $4.267 in the Midwest, 15.1¢ to $4.299 in the Gulf Coast, and 13.2¢ to $4.473 in the Rocky Mountain region. The West Coast receded 15.3¢ to $4.511, and California fell 17.4¢ to $4.607.
