We store all our hay in the dry (sheds and barns) much of it also on wooden pallets and feed exclusively in cone feeders. We stockpile some pasture, depending on summer rain, and often don't get into serious feeding until after Christmas. Better nutrition, less wear n tear on hay equiptment, fewer cold starts in the winter.
