Meat Market Update | Fed Cattle Prices See Boost From Volume Increases

Ed Czerwien, USDA Market News reporter in Amarillo, TX, provides us with the latest outlook on boxed beef prices and the weekly cattle trade.

Prices were just a little lower for the week ending June 7, but volume jumped and packers became more aggressive, which helped support the increase in fed cattle prices.

The low out-front sales prior to Father's Day supported the increased sales for immediate delivery which stopped the prices from going down and pushed sales volume up.
