Cargill donates $100,000 to Columbus Community Hospital Wellness Center

YMCA, hospital collaboration aligns with Cargill emphasis on health

With support from Cargill’s meat processing facility in Columbus,NE, and beef processing facility in Schuyler, NE, as well as corporate matching funds, the company is donating $100,000 to the Columbus Community Hospital’s new health and wellness center that broke ground last Wednesday.  This collaboration between the hospital and Columbus Family YMCA is the type of project that aligns with Cargill’s community support for health and wellness programs where the company has operations and significant employment.

“There are more than 2,400 Cargill employees in the Columbus-Schuyler area, in addition to their family members, which represents a significant portion of the overall population,” stated Noah Fullbright, general manager at Cargill’s Columbus facility that employs 300 people.  “We have been part of this region for many years, and this type of investment supports the outstanding efforts of the Columbus Community Hospital and Columbus Family YMCA to promote healthy living.  We’re pleased to be able to make this donation and look forward to the opening of the health and wellness center.”
