Winter Wonderland On The Ranch

friends-by-brown.jpg It's day two of the "winter" theme here on BEEF Daily. Today, we are focused on what makes ranch life beautiful during the cold season of the year. Sure, winter weather can be harsh and unpredictable. Snow, wind, ice and freezing temperatures can even make ranching dangerous for both the people and cattle. However, there's something beautiful about feeding cattle on a crisp winter morning. As the animals belly up to the bunk, the icicles on their whiskers and the puffs of their warm breath in the cool air is a sight to be seen. It's at times like these, when all is still, that we can appreciate nature's beauty.

Last year, BEEF celebrated the holidays with a Cowboy Christmas photography contest, showcasing the beauty of winter and ranching traditions.

Today, you can qualify to win by answering this question in the comments section below: What do you like best about winter on the ranch?

Winners will be announced Thursday. Check back tomorrow for a second chance to enter and win!
