Photo Caption Winners, Plus Another Ag Video

RSS

Today, we announce the winners of our photo caption contest for June. Plus, check out this video called, “So God Made A 4-Her.”

Our June photo caption contest has been a lot of fun. I’ve enjoyed reading your caption and title ideas for this photograph of my sister Kaley (age 14 in the photo) and her show heifer Winnie at the South Dakota State Fair a few years ago.

From “tender beef” to “purple-ribbon pals,” I had so many favorites that it was hard to narrow it down to the top three. Our three finalists will win a limited-edition western art print courtesy of BEEF magazine.

Congratulations to our three champions:

“Beauty and the beef,” by Northern Illinois.

“I love my beef,” by Joe Tupper.

“Keep hugging me like that, and I will continue to wear the pink halter,” by Jack Nemac.

Read all of the entries here, and feel free to add more ideas in the comments section.

With all of this talk of fluffy cows and state fairs coming up, I thought I would share this fun video that I found on YouTube the other day called, “So God Made A 4-Her.” It’s a play on the original poem, “So God Made A Farmer,” which was made famous during the Super Bowl this year. Have a listen and let me know what you think.

Someone needs to teach those 4-Her's to put their hand over their heart when saying the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the USA.
I notice one or two of them did.
I love your columns, Amanda. Keep up the good work.
