Oprah's Hypocritical KFC Coupon Deal

RSS
kfc-free-chicken.png KFC is now offering recalls to a huge number of people after Oprah offered free coupons for Kentucky Grilled Chicken Meals at her website. Winfrey said the offer was simply a gesture to help her viewers struggling with the effects of recession, but now she is getting "grilled" for this major contradiction in her many outspoken views. Why is Oprah, a past PETA person of the year, offering chicken meals to her viewers? PETA said they awarded Oprah with this title because, "She used her show to uncover horrific cases of cruelty to animals in puppy mills and on factory farms, and Oprah even used the show to highlight the cruelty-free vegan diet that she tried!" Now, the animal rights activists are in a complete frenzy and are upset that their "trophy girl" has contradicted their views on animal rights. I think this is just another example of how Oprah has a completely flawed idea of her true morals and values, and she can't stand on both side of the fence and preach to the world anymore. What does Oprah REALLY stand for anyway? In the end, it's kind of hysterical to see her get in a little hot water for this hypocrisy.

oprah.jpgSo, what do you think? Was this simply a nice gesture to help give people free food during tight economic times? Is this a complete contradiction with her past history against the beef industry and her previous shows on animal rights and veganism? Need more information? I have listed links for a few articles about this KFC coupon deal. I encourage you all to take a moment to read them and leave your comments. This has definitely started a dialogue about the way farm animals are raised, and I don't want producers left out of the conversation. Good luck!
