Look at 'em all...grazing in the pasture last Friday before we moved them all home for weaning. When the cowherd is in the pasture, it means chores consist of checking fence, taking pasture tours, spraying for flies on occasion and keeping the creep feeder full.
Yes, last Saturday certainly stole away this summertime bliss.
Now the calves are weaned and need great attention, the cows want their babies back and they demand more hay, and the chores are never ending. And, boy am I happy to be a weekend rancher! Get the chores done, Dad! I gotta get to class!
