farmers.jpgThere is a Facebook group that is taking the social networking world by storm. With 6,858 members to date, I Love Farmers...They Feed My Soul is one of the most popular resources for consumers to learn about where their food comes from. If you're on Facebook, this group is a great opportunity to begin a dialogue with people from around the world to help answer questions about food production, animal care and life as a rancher. This group is the brainchild of several dynamic individuals at Cal Poly, and I'm proud to be a member of this group. I think you should join, too!

About the group:

I Love Farmers...They Feed My Soul is dedicated to hardworking American farmers! I Love Farmers has launched a campaign to support the American family farmer. While others are free to join, the effort is dedicated to getting young consumers 14 to 24 years old (rural and urban) into a conversation about where their food comes from and how it is produced. The conversation won't always be politically correct and well, that's o.k. We need to let everyone know how important family farmers are to our health, our economy, our environment and our national defense! You 'll be seeing and hearing more about I Love Farmers! This effort is not bound by narrow interests of individual commodities or industry segments (frankly, that has been the problem in communicating agriculture's message.) I Love Farmers supports ALL farmers and RANCHERS for that matter! Join us in spreading the word!

You can follow this group on Twitter or show your support by purchasing apparel at their website. Cheers to this organization and their hard work in supporting the agriculture industry!
