BEEF and Roper "Cowboys And Cattlemen" Photo Contest!

It's hard to believe June is here already, and Father's Day is quickly approaching. As the oldest of three daughters, I was naturally Dad's right-hand girl, trailing in my hero's big footsteps and trying to be just like him. From my father, I gained a true appreciation for the cattle business, a deep love of the land, a strong Christian faith, and a desire to constantly improve and grow in our family's long-standing tradition of agriculture. Because of his strong influence in my life, I feel it's so important to celebrate the men who raised us, guided us through tough times and instilled in us a solid foundation of values. I'm excited to announce a new photography contest, sponsored by Roper Apparel and Footwear, celebrating the hardworking, dedicated men in agriculture -- Cowboys and Cattlemen!

Roper Prizes: Just like the tough and gritty men in the beef business, Roper Apparel and Footwear offers products durable enough to get the job done and versatile enough to wear to church on Sunday mornings. I'm a huge fan of this company, from their wide variety of boots, to their fun and trendy clothes; this company is a true gem for every cowboy and cowgirl! I'm excited to announce the prizes of the Cowboys and Cattlemen Photo Contest -- Grand Champion and Reserve winners will each receive $150 gift cards to shop at any Roper retailer. And, in a fun, new twist, we will be giving away two Roper gear bags, big enough to hold cameras, lenses, cowboy boots and even tack, to randomly selected voters who help select our champions! It's a win-win for everybody, and I can't wait to get rolling with this contest!

So, whip out your cameras and start capturing the cowboys in your life! To enter, simply send your best photograph to amanda.nolz@penton.com with the name of the cowboy or cattleman in the photograph and a few words on what he means to you. Don’t forget to include your mailing address, too! Please, one entry per person.

The deadline for entries is June 10, with finalists to be announced on June 13. Once again, readers will vote from the lucky finalists, and the champions will be awarded their Roper gift certificates the day after Father's Day, June 20. I can't wait to see your photos!
