The third annual Deep South Stocker Conference is Aug. 19 at Auburn University's E.V. Smith Research Center in Shorter. A joint effort of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, the Mississippi State University Extension Service, and the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension, the presentations include:

• "Considerations for Successful Deworming" by Thomas Yazwinski, University of Arkansas.
  
  
• "Developing a Sound Mineral Program" by John Arthington, University of Florida.
  
  
• "Managing Buy-Sell Margins for Feeder Cattle" by Emmit Rawls, University of Tennessee.
  
  
• "Economic Grazing Programs for Stockers" by Don Ball, Auburn University.
  
  
• Producer Panel that includes Tim Tucker, Monroe, AL; and Clay Kennemer, Hollywood, AL.
  
  
• "Advances in Shipping Fever Treatment" by Clint Krehbiel, Oklahoma State University.
  
  
• "Byproduct Feeding" by Darrell Rankins, Auburn University.
  
  The conference begins at 8 a.m. Aug. 19 and ends at 4:45 p.m. for a tour of new backgrounding research facility at E.V. Smith Research Center.
