EC rules on GM
In a move sure to raise howls of protest from activists, the European Commission (EC) ruled last month that animals fed genetically modified (GM) feed showed no residual traces in their meat or eggs. The ruling was the result of a petition last February by the environmental activist group Greenpeace, which demanded special labels on products from animals that had consumed GM feed. The EC then asked the European Food Safety Authority to investigate.
